St. Oswald's Church Update

Message from John Clarke & Margaret Clarke, Church Wardens.

"We're delighted to report that the damage to the Chancel ceiling in St Oswald's has been successfully repaired and that no further risk has been identified.

The church will fully reopen to visitors from Monday 9th November, open daily from 10am-2.30pm during winter months and 10am-4pm in summer.

We thank the Diocesan Architect, Ian Hayton, and contractors Pinnacle for their speedy response, which has enabled the church to be fully accessible for the annual Remembrance Day service on Sunday 8th November.

Christian Aid Week 2026

Huge thanks to everyone who contributed to Christian Aid Week this year - the total amount raised was £1343.69 - the result of a magnificent effort. This sum does not include any Gift Aid that is claimed and administered by Christian Aid. Special mention to John for all his work in co-ordinating everything this year. This means that more women like Belinda (see video below) will be able to support their families through urban gardening. Thank you all.
